Moving Maryland Forward is a project designed and developed to power progressive social change by creating an online network linking Maryland advocacy leaders with people concerned about important public policy issues now before state leaders.

Launched in January 2012, MMFN grew quickly as we connected people into campaigns and to support the great work of Leaders from American Civil Liberties Union of Maryland, the Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition, the Maryland Budget and Tax Policy Institute and the Just Kids Partnership.  Working with Moving Maryland Forward Network provided these leaders with the very best online organizing and communications tools they can use in campaigns to promote fairness, equality and justice for all Marylanders.

At a time when more and more citizens turn to the Internet for news, information and opportunities to express their views of major issues of the day, and when more and more political leaders use websites, blogs and other forms of social media to reach voters and supporters, it is vital that advocacy leaders are effective in using these digital technologies.  Spirited public dialogue and debate are essential for our democratic process. Moving Maryland Forward Network is a vehicle for promoting dialogue and debate, bringing support for new voices in the discussion and for communicating important information and ideas, to people of Maryland advocating for better public policies.
