More than 700,000 Maryland workers cannot earn paid sick days and often go to work sick, send sick children to school or daycare, or in the worst situations, lose their job because they cannot come to work.

In jurisdictions where state and local standards allow workers to earn paid sick days, surveys show workers' lives improved and businesses succeeded.
